I went to the Smyrna, Tennessee cemetery in Warren County and saw the graves of what I believe are Sarah Phillips, Charity Phillips, Elizabeth Phillips and Milberry “Miley” Phillips. The graves of Charity Phillips, Elizabeth Phillips and Miley Phillips are grouped together and next to one another.
Sarah’s grave shows her birthday to be 10 September 1788 and her death date is 22 October 1877. She is buried between William Barnes and Charity Barnes (Wife of William Barnes). These three graves are also grouped together just like the other three. There has to be significance to her placement there and the groupings.
Assuming that William took a younger wife, that means he was likely born before 1788, but it will be difficult to prove that without his grave.
